The Italian Stone Pine, after construction
The tree looks fantastic in front of the newly refurbished house. But can it survive a loss of more than 75% of it's roots, soil compaction, a non-permeable driveway in the root zone carrying water away, a soil build-up and grade change next to its trunk? Or what about way too much water (needed for lawn and shrubs) inside its drip zone? And don't forget previous construction damage caused by debris. Moreover, newly installed sprinklers are hitting the trunk keeping it moist and providing an excellent opportunity for decay, see next image for a close up. We'll keep you posted about this one!
