Magnolia, 2005
This magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora) was accustomed to regular irrigation and now it has none. The large mounds of soil directly behind the tree are in the critical protection zone and are smothering its roots. The construction debris piled around this tree is just getting started - last time we looked it was twice the size it is now. This tree was a healthy specimen and if these actions continue this tree may not survive. See next image for side view.
